Fix Eclipse Vibrant Ink Search Result Highlights

The Vibrant Ink theme darkens the editor background, which makes search highlights difficult to spot.

Solution

Update the annotation settings:

  1. Go to Window → Preferences → General → Editors → Text Editors → Annotations.
  2. Select Search Results.
  3. Change Text as to Squiggly Line or adjust foreground/background colours for higher contrast.

Additional Tips

  • Apply similar tweaks to Occurrences and Write Occurrences annotations so rename-in-file stands out.
  • Export your updated preferences (File → Export → General → Preferences) and share with teammates using the same theme.
